Getting Here By Auto
Adirondack Park is one of the largest parks in the United States and is only a day’s drive away. The park is just a few minutes away from the border of Quebec and a few hours away from Boston and only 4 hrs just north of NYC. There are over 6 million acres of wilderness and towering mountains, tranquil valleys and wild rivers. The Park is a very diversified region in the north east region. Driving from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal is very inexpensive being the Canadian $ is near par. Canadians can use their own back or Adirondack banks for exchanging currency.
Interstate & Byways
There is a ton of things in Adirondack Park to see that even getting there is just the start of a fun adventure. You can take Interstate 81 or Interstate 87 making the trip easy and quick. All you need is one tank of gas from NYC, Canada and Vermont. There’s 14 scenic Adirondack byways that cross over the region. You can travel off the regular roads to find monumental locations, sights and museums to make the roads less traveled a killer journey.
Airports
The regional airports have flights to the Adirondacks as well as international and national flights from Boston through the regional airport located in lake clear. There is also the Plattsburgh Airport and two national airports offering additional flights. If you are coming from Vermont or Albany there are two airports; Albany Airport and Burlington Airport – which are a few hours away from the Adirondacks.
Amtrak Train – Bus
Amtrak offers service to the Adirondacks that is among North Americas top Ten scenic train ride. The trip begins at Penn Station in NYC and travels through Saratoga Springs, Hudson valley and history rich Ticonderoga.
There is also the Adirondack Trail Ways bus line that goes to the Adirondacks and travels from all major cities throughout United States make traveling easy and direct. The Adirondack Trailways services:

During the summer Tupper Lake and Ticonderoga are added to the itinerary when traveling from NYC. The trip is about 5 hours to Warrensburg and the service from Albany into lake placid is about 4 hours.
